HAPPY ST. VALENTINE'S DAY

Valentine's Day chocolate treats from our Membership Chair and today's program organizer, Lea Glembot, waited for us as we arrived.

President Kitty Zuckerman, started our meeting today by welcoming the Shenandoah University Rotaract Club officers with her now famous Rotary Cheer.

Mike Perry, a charter member of the Club, talked about his career as part of our year-long Membership Vocational Program designed to help us get to know each other a little better.  Mike started out riding his tricycle on Kent Street and now owns Blue Ridge Bicycle shop in Winchester.

Bill Old, a long-time member and Past President our Club, talked about his circular career path that started out helping to teach others to swim at camp.  He is an educator and a personal financial advisor.  Bill now once again is helping others learn how to swim.

Chris Place, President of Winchester Casket Company, Inc. joined the Club about five years ago and is a Paul Harris Fellow and Sustainer.  Chris has served as our Club Administrator.  His family owned business provides caskets and funeral supplies within a 300 mile area of Winchester and Frederick County.

Wendy Longerbeam, served as our Sergent-at-Arms today.  Wendy is smiling because she is celebrating a birthday today and is listening to the famously off-key Rotary Club of Frederick County birthday song.

The Four-way Test

In 1932, Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor created The Four-Way Test, a code of ethics adopted by Rotary 11 years later.

The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions:

Of the things we think, say or do

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
