Since 1986 hundreds of volunteers have been helping us provide the gift of health to those in need. Volunteers are key to the success of the Free Medical Clinic. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish our goals without their enthusiasm and talents.
Volunteer opportunities are available during business hours as well as on clinic evenings and for special events. New volunteers are always welcome. For more information or an application to volunteer, please call the volunteer coordinator at 540-536-1680.

The Free Medical Clinic is a volunteer, community-based service organization. We rely on donations and private gifts to keep our doors open, purchase medications, and arrange for care. We invite you to help us continue the legacy of caring, by making an investment in the Free Medical Clinic and its programs. The FMC is a 501 (c) (3) not-for profit organization. Any donation is tax deductible. There are many ways you can contribute to the Free Medical Clinic to help provide vital healthcare to the uninsured in our community.

A FREE MEDICAL CLINIC is a private, nonprofit, community-based or faith-based organization that provides compassionate, quality health care at little or no charge to low-income, uninsured and underinsured people through heavy use of volunteer health professionals and partnerships with other health organizations. OUR MISSION is to provide the gift of health to those in need. The Free Medical Clinic is dedicated to the belief that everyone should have access to health care services. OUR GOAL is to provide primary medical, nursing, dental and pharmacy services, as well as health education to those who do not have health insurance or resources to secure their own care.

SOME FACTS about the Free Medical Clinic:

• The Free Medical Clinic began offering services in October 23, 1986 from the basement of the First Presbyterian Church. On our first night of operation we helped 14 patients. Now we average 45 at each evening clinic.

• We have a licensed on-site pharmacy that dispenses an average of 600 to 800 prescriptions per week. Many of the medicines are provided to us free by pharmaceutical representatives, physician offices, and through special programs provided by pharmaceutical companies.

• Funding to support the clinic comes from the community- businesses, churches, civic groups, individuals, fundraising events, and donations from our patients. Valley Health Systems is a major partner with the FMC and provides both cash and in-kind resources to the clinic.

• The Free Medical Clinic is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible.

• Volunteers are what make it possible! Over 275 volunteer physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, dental assistants, eligibility interviewers, and many others donate their time and talents to the Free Medical Clinic.

Club members, invited guests and visiting Rotarians are welcome to attend.

A baby mosquito came back after his first time flying.
His dad asked him "How do you feel?"
He replied "It was wonderful, Everyone was clapping for me!"
Now that's what I call Positive Attitude!
